When did you begin working at People’s Baptist? 

I began as a Sr. Pastor on June 1st, 2005…but I also served as the asst. pastor from 1990-1992, and as song leader/asst. youth pastor from 1987-1992.

 

What is one of your favorite scripture?

Joshua 1: 9

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

  

What are your top 3 favorite movies?

Day the earth Stood Still (1951 version, of course!), Man of Steel, Star Trek First Contact.

 

What is your hidden talent or a fun fact about you?

I can hold my breath for two minutes under water.

 

What is one of your favorite song to sing in church?

Holy, Holy, Holy

 

What’s your favorite place you’ve traveled?

Copper Harbor, Mi

 

What makes you laugh the most?

a really good clean joke
 
 

What is your favorite family tradition?

playing games around the table during the holidays

 

Pastor Mark is the husband of 34 years to Susan, and together they have raised five wonderful children, and they live in Lapeer, MI. Both he and Susan are natives of the Lapeer area. Pastor Mark has been in the ministry since 1987, and holds a Master of Theology from Campbellsville University, a Master of Arts in Pastoral Counseling from Liberty University, and is currently working on his PhD in Leadership through Johnson University.  Pastor Mark describes himself as a Christ follower, and his heart desire is to see people receive Christ, to help them grow in their faith, and take their place as active participants in ministering to others.

What is one of your favorite scripture?

Philippians 3:12-14

Not that I have already obtained it or have already become perfect, but I press on [a]so that I may lay hold of that [b]for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus. Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus
 
 

What are your top 3 favorite movies?

Iron Man, Finding Dory, Courageous 

 

What is your hidden talent or a fun fact about you?

I’ve once white water rafted off a volcano in Padegonia, Argentina. 

 

What is one of your favorite song to sing in church?

I love I saw the Light, Its an awesome song.

 

What’s your favorite place you’ve traveled?

Buenos Aires, Argentina, that city is so beautiful.

 

What makes you laugh the most?

Playing board games with my small group, we can get a little crazy sometimes.

 

What is your favorite family tradition?

At Christmas time, all the boys join together to play a game of darts. Whoever loses, they have to do the task the others come up with.

What is one of your favorite scripture?

Philippians 1:6

For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.

 

 

What are your top 3 favorite movies?

Pitch Perfect (1 and 2), Inside Out, pretty much any Disney movie

 

 

What is your hidden talent or a fun fact about you?

I’ve lived in Michigan my whole life. 

 

What is one of your favorite song to sing in church?

My all time favorite song to sing…and play…is Days of Elijah. I will suggest that song every week if asked for a suggestion! 

 

What’s your favorite place you’ve traveled?

Our family vacation to Boston would have to be pretty high on the list. It was really cool to see all the history that is in and around that town. 

  

What makes you laugh the most?

My husband and my son. They both do really goofy things from time to time! And I will sometime laugh uncontrollably if someone tells a really corny joke.
